The Cambridge Motor Boat Club is based on the riverside at Waterbeach (about 5 miles north of Cambridge) and is open to boaters and non-boaters alike. We offer a clubhouse, beautiful grounds, and a limited number of moorings. There is a comprehensive calendar of events throughout the year, in addition to the boating activities.
The Cambridge Motorboat Club was formed in 1911 and has continued to grow in strength and vitality since.
Cambridge Motor Boat Club is situated at Clayhithe, in a beautiful 4 acre site with riverside and basin moorings.
The clubhouse boasts kitchen, bar, toilets, showers and a large function room and dance floor. Outside there are members' caravans and chalets, 18 hole golf putting course and newly installed children's play equipment. The ground between the clubhouse and river provides an ideal area for barbecues, picnics or just sitting to enjoy the surroundings, and the permanent marquee offers shelter from the weather.
We are a very friendly club and especially if you are new to the river. There is always someone on hand to help advise you on anything you need to know about all aspects of boats and boating!
We are a self-run club, not a marina, and rely on the involvement and commitment of members to keep the club running.
